When you think about face painting today, you usually think about the colourful images that are drawn onto a child’s face at places like Birthday Parties or Galas. However, that wasn’t always what face painting was all about. Face painting dates back thousands of years across many different cultures and has been used for a wide variety of purposes such as for camouflage, religious purposes, entertainment and in some areas of the world to identify separate tribes and to strike fear into their enemies as they went into battle, take Mel Gibson's character as William Wallace in Braveheart.

Though the majority of face painting is geared towards children, many teenagers and adults enjoy being painted for special events, such as charity fundraisers, sporting occasions and theme nights.

Colour Magic FX now also offer 'Party Goer's' the option to add some of that extra wow factor to the dance floor with their selection of UV paints.
